Maternity Q&A

When is the best time to do a maternity session?

Maternity shoots are best to do between 34-36 weeks, when your belly is nice and round, but you aren’t too uncomfortable moving around.

Can I do an outfit change?

Yes, you can do one outfit change.

I have another child/children can they be included?

I try to capture ethereal looking maternity photos. Unfortunately, it becomes more difficult to achieve this look when children are present. It’s more difficult to keep the belly prominent and the poses flattering.  I’m sorry!

How are the photos provided?

Your retouched photographs will be available 1.5-3 weeks after the session date. They are presented in an online gallery, where clients download the high resolution images from there. The gallery can be shared with family and friends. It offers the option to have prints and products ordered from there. The client is given printing rights with delivery of the photos so printing can be done wherever they like. However, I highly recommend doing you printing through for the best results, aside from going through a professional lab of course.

Can we replicate photos found on Pinterest?

It’s important for me to create something unique at portrait sessions rather than replicating. Though I may include some vintage looking props, I prefer not to incorporate cutesy maternity photography props like newborn clothing and letter blocks, I prefer to focus on creating fine art type photographs of your beautiful, curvy silhouette. Timeless over trendy.

What’s required to book?

A $600 retainer along with signing the contract is required to reserve a maternity session. The balance is due the day of the shoot.
