Iceland Summer Adventure Elopement
These two eloped in Iceland the week of the summer solstice. It’s the period of time called the midnight sun because it never gets completely dark. This means more time to explore! It was a perfect summer day there, quite warm actually and very little wind! We drove together on the scenic ring road to visit Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach. Seals swimming around and onlookers gazing in awe at the stunning ice formations floating about. It’s an exciting place to start the day! A kind person let us take some photos with a heart shaped piece of ice she was given on a boat tour. So fun! The ice blocks pass through a channel to the ocean nearby leaving pieces of ice on the black sand beach. For this reason, it’s named Diamond Beach! We were lucky enough to see a whale close to shore here! Next, we hiked Múlagljúfur Canyon. It didn’t even feel like real life, it was breathtaking! Picture perfect with the rich mossy greens, waterfalls, and birds soaring in the valley. We had a wonderful dinner at Smiðjan Brugghús in Vik and visited a field of purple lupines! We arrived to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach at “sunset” and even got a visit to the mighty waterfall, Skógafoss at 12am! What a incredibly memorable and magical way to get married!!
