Helsinki Hudson Wedding – Custom by Nicole Photography : Adventure wedding & elopement photographer based in Hudson Valley NY available for travel

Liz and Greg had the most perfect intimate wedding at Helsinki Hudson, an industrial venue in Hudson NY. The two live in NYC and decided to have their wedding weekend in this artsy city in the beautiful Hudson Valley. They got ready in an eclectic rental house down the street from the venue. Their rooms were connected by a large wooden door which served as a wonderful way to do the first look! Liz actually had her dress custom made. Simple lines and elegant, with a racer back. It fit her so well and she looked fantastic. I loved how her sister had a similar styled back on her dress so they complimented each other. Their wedding party was small, with just a maid of honor and best man and two adorable twin flower girls! The best man, a good friend of Greg’s actually officiated the ceremony! They wanted the celebration to feel relaxed, so they began the cocktail hour before the ceremony and after their guests found their seats at the restaurant tables and mingled a bit, the ceremony began. It was lovely. How cool would it be for them to visit the restaurant on their anniversaries and have dinner next to the staircase where they became husband and wife? Awesome. I just love the industrial design at Helsinki Hudson. The mixture of exposed brick, wood beams, and metal throughout with accents of bulb string lights, elegant light fixtures, and interesting mirrors makes it such an interesting space. They went with sleek and classy decor of calla lilies, pops of glitzy metallics, and custom wood pieces that Greg actually made! His custom wood candle holders served as both favors and decor and the frame he made with wood hearts that the guests signed and dropped into it replaced the traditional guest book. Such a great idea! His work in the architecture field definitely paid off in contributing to the wedding! Liz is in the sapphire engagement ring club with me. Her emerald cut blue sapphire ring is a stunner. Greg’s wedding band is actually made to look like wood encased in metal! Every detail with this one was harmonious with the overall look! Liz has a background in dance which I’m sure contributed to all the awesome dancing that night. Even with a small guest list, the party on the dance floor never stopped! Liz and Greg, I so thoroughly enjoyed being a part of your big day! You two are a perfect pair and I couldn’t be happier for you both!
